Why AI detectors are broken — and what we built instead

A Humanums certificate records how a document was written, not what it says. While the writer worked, the editor logged timing: the intervals between keystrokes, how long the pauses ran, where text was deleted and rewritten, how much arrived by paste, and how the work spread across sessions. Six signals are scored from that record and combined into the confidence score above.

No content was captured, only timing. The certificate is signed and carries a hash of the finished text, so it covers this exact version and nothing else. That is what makes it different from an AI detector: nothing here is a guess about the finished words.
