How fast do you actually type?
Type the passage below and get your words per minute, accuracy, and time. The average typist hits 40 WPM. Everything runs in your browser — nothing you type leaves your device.
Pasting is disabled — that's rather the point.

About this typing test.
How is WPM calculated?
Words per minute uses the standard definition: one word equals five characters. We count your correctly typed characters, divide by five, and divide by your elapsed time in minutes. Mistyped characters don't count toward speed.
What is a good typing speed?
The average typist reaches about 40 WPM. Above 60 WPM is fast, above 80 WPM is professional-level, and over 100 WPM puts you in roughly the top few percent of typists.
How is accuracy measured?
Accuracy is correct characters divided by total keystrokes, including mistakes you later corrected. Backspacing fixes the text but the original mistyped keystroke still counts against accuracy.
Why is pasting disabled?
A typing test measures typing. Pasting would defeat the purpose — and that's also the core idea behind Humanums: how text arrives in a document is measurable, and it's the difference between typed human writing and generated content.
Is my typing data stored or sent anywhere?
No. The whole test runs locally in your browser. Nothing you type on this page leaves your device.
What does typing speed have to do with proving writing is human?
Human typing has a rhythm: bursts, pauses at thinking points, corrections, and natural speed variation. Humanums captures those behavioral signals while you write and turns them into a signed certificate that your content is human-written.
